Lisa Miccio is a Kindergarten teacher at The Waldorf School of Garden City, located in Garden City, New York. She holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English from the College of Charleston in South Carolina, a Master’s Degree in Elementary Education from L.I.U/C.W. Post and a Master’s Degree in Waldorf Education from Sunbridge College. Lisa has also received a certificate in Child Development from Birth to Three from Sophia’s Hearth in Keene, NH, as well as, completed Sunbridge Institute’s training in Collaborative Leadership, Negotiation, Pedagogical Leadership, and Conflict Resolution.
Lisa has been in education for over 21 years, with 17 years’ experience as a Waldorf early childhood educator. In addition to her 11 years as a member of the Green Meadow faculty, Lisa’s experience includes teaching at Mountain Laurel Waldorf School (NY) and Dayspring Community School (NY). She also sits on the Sunbridge Board of Trustees, leads the Introduction to Waldorf Early Childhood Education course at Sunbridge Institute, and mentors teachers in training.

Sarita was born and raised in Kathmandu, Nepal. She started her journey with Waldorf education in 1997 when she moved to Hyderabad, India, and became a Waldorf parent. She attended Waldorf teacher training courses and conferences in many countries over the years (India, New Zealand, Thailand, Philippines, Korea, Japan, Switzerland, USA, etc.) and became a kindergarten teacher. She has over 10 years’ experience as a kindergarten and class teacher.
Currently she is conducting parenting workshops and early childhood introductory courses in different parts of Nepal. She completed her Early Childhood Diploma in Waldorf Education from Sunbridge Institute in New York and is one of the founding members of Kathmandu Waldorf Kindergarten. Sarita is presently coaching and mentoring the teachers in Kathmandu Waldorf Kindergarten.

Miss Darpana completed her education in Gujarat Board, India. Originally from Nepal, she has completed an early childhood education course, and worked for ten years in administration. She has two years’ experience as a grade 1 teacher. She has completed introductory workshop in Waldorf Early Childhood Education with Ms. Lisa Miccio (New York) and has also completed The Essentials of Waldorf Education training by Michal Ben Shalom (Israel). She enjoys reading, listening to music, and traveling.
Miss Rumi has been at The Kathmandu Waldorf Kindergarten (KWK) since November, where she began in the Parent & Child program as an assistant teacher. She completed The Essentials of Waldorf Education training by Michal Ben Shalom (Israel) and Van James (Hawaii), the Introduction to Waldorf Early Childhood Education training with Lisa Miccio (New York) and introductory workshop in Waldorf ECE with Sarita Sanghai. Prior to joining KWK, she taught at the Ullens School for two years. Her daily observations of the children continually inspire her, and it was her fondness and love of children that drew her towards Waldorf education.
